Cowboy is sired by Wranglin San Badge and traces to Especialysmart Peppy and Little Peppy Special on the top side, with Peppy San Badger appearing deeper in his pedigree. On the bottom side, he is backed by Chicos Dee Man and Golden Chico Reed, reflecting traditional ranch-bred Quarter Horse lines.
I have known this gelding since he was a foal. I am close friends with the dam’s owner and have personally ridden and trained many horses from her program over the years. They have consistently been kind-minded and trainable individuals, and Cowboy carries those same qualities.
From day one, he has been exceptionally personable and gentle. He genuinely wants to be picked in the pasture and meets you with a willing attitude every time. He stands quietly to be caught and is always ready to go to work.
Cowboy has been brought along slowly and thoughtfully, with a foundation built on real exposure and practical use.
• Worked at the auction mart around cattle in fast-paced environments
• Hauled to multiple arenas and comfortable around large groups of horses
• With only three months of riding, Cowboy packed a very inexperienced rider through a 7-day mountain trip in the Ya Ha Tinda — steady, willing, and reliable every day
• Used in ranch roping settings and roped live cattle
• Will be roped on out of the box prior to sale day
• Entered in several schooling ARHA shows this spring to continue sharpening his reining and show-ring exposure
He is currently being ridden 4–5 days per week in preparation for schooling shows and the Top Gun Sale. This winter, he had two months off and returned to work exactly the same — quiet, willing, and uncomplicated.
His temperament truly sets him apart. New environments, green riders, cattle, commotion — he handles it with maturity well beyond his age.
Under saddle, Cowboy is smooth, correct, and naturally athletic. He has a beautiful walk and trot, a natural desire to stop, and controlled spins that continue to improve. He is soft in the bridle and confident both inside and outside the arena. I can step on him bareback after time off, in a big group or alone, with complete trust.
He is excellent to clip, bathe, load, trim, and shoe.
Up to date on dental, vaccinations, and deworming.
Sound and requires no maintenance.
