Virgil

Virgil is confident, independent, and patient. He is an old soul. He has made many miles bush whacking and trail riding in all types of terrain. Steep hills, bog, swamp, rivers, and dead fall. Virgil is just happy to go explore and he has been a pleasure to ride. He has a long stride and really covers ground fast and he will long trot great distances. He does not get hot. Has a great stop. Light on the bit. Neck reins well. He does not move when you get on and off and will stand with reins loose. He will stand tied for hours alone and never fuss or paw. He is super easy to catch, trim, and load. No vices and 100% sound. Never had any injuries and is straight and correct. He wears a number 4 shoe and has solid black feet that never crack or break out. His feet have been regularly maintained since he was 10 months old. He has never bucked and is very laid back but not lazy. He is a great trail/ranch horse. He is good to gather,move, and sort cows. I don’t know that you will find one much prettier with full long main and tail. Low tail set and good wither. He is very well put together. His dam is a Canadian and sire was a red roan Brabant. He does not have sprung ribs and flat back like many draft and draft crosses have. He is a bit narrow and comfortable to ride many hours. I have owned several Canadian geldings that were brothers to Virgils dam and they are now mostly all owned by outfitters in the Yukon, BC, and 2 of them in Alaska. All have proven to be incredibly hardy and sure footed mountain horses. When the going gets tough Virgil is the one you want under you. He will not disappoint and he will definitely turn some heads. He stands 16 hands and will finish at 16-1. Come try him.
