Description

Tonka is a grade 6-year-old Fjord gelding with a solid foundation and the versatility to go in many directions. He is broke, surefooted, and ready to be someone’s dependable partner for work or play.

Tonka is easy to handle and manage, with no extra maintenance. He has been exposed to a variety of livestock, including cattle, alpacas, goats, and bison. He is excellent for the farrier, stands tied quietly for long periods, trailers well, and bathes without issue. He is built correctly with straight legs, solid bone, strong feet, and he has never been lame or foundered.

Under saddle, Tonka has a strong, correct foundation. He is soft in the bridle, responsive to leg cues, and offers smooth, balanced transitions. He has experience riding both in the arena and on the trail. Spent hours moving cattle, packing a flag, tarp, and pulling a tire. He has roped the dummy extensively and shows potential to make a fun little heel horse. Ride him saddled or bareback, and he will gladly go out on his own with no fuss.

Tonka has also been harnessed and pulled a sled in the snow, suggesting an easy transition to driving or cart work. He has a great work ethic, plenty of stamina, and is comfortable putting in long days and covering miles.

Tonka would be an excellent fit for someone looking for a solid ranch horse, all-around project, or dependable recreational partner. As a bonus, he knows how to lay down on command, making mounting and dismounting easier—or serving as a fun party trick.
