Lucy – 3 Year Old Draft x Quarter Horse Mare

Lucy is a sensible, brave, and very friendly young mare. She is always the first to meet you at the gate and enjoys attention. She stands tied quietly, is good with her feet, and is excellent to saddle.

Prior to being started under saddle, Lucy was ground drove extensively and handled it very well. Because of this foundation, she would also likely make an excellent driving horse for someone interested in taking her in that direction.

By sale day Lucy will have approximately 50 solid rides, both indoors and outdoors. She is being ridden consistently and exposed to a variety of experiences as her training progresses.

Lucy will continue advancing in her training with exposure to cattle, ropes, outside miles, and obstacles leading up to the sale.

Lucy has a quiet, willing disposition and the kind of mind that makes her enjoyable to be around and easy to continue developing.

She is still young and would benefit from a rider who can support her through this stage of development, or she can remain in training with Sarah Sitko at SJS Horse Training and Sales for continued progression.

Lucy is flashy, built correctly, and will mature into a big, solid mare. With her size, bone, and disposition, she has the kind of build and mind suited for a long day’s work and all the qualities to make an excellent ranch or rope horse.

Lucy is currently located in training at New Beginnings Equestrian Center, just outside of Onaway, Alberta, approximately one hour from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Interested buyers are welcome to come see and try Lucy prior to sale day.
