Gin

Description

Gin is a solid, dependable mare who will go all day — through blowdown, bog, mountains, and any country you need to cover. She’s honest and reliable, with plenty of real ranch experience. She’s been used to drag calves at branding, pair out, turn out, and wean in the fall.

She’s more woah than go, but don’t let that fool you—she has the speed when you ask for it. I’ve used her to chase horses, and she took it in stride with no trouble keeping up.

She’s good to shoe, saddle, and blanket. She stands still for you to get on and off, moves off leg pressure, and stays light on the face. You can turn her out on pasture for a few months, bring her back in, and ride off without any issues.

She’s the kind of mare you can count on every day—steady and ready to go to work whenever you are.
