Fred

Rope Horse Posted: Jan 27, 2024 (4 months ago)

Description

Fred’s the been there done that type and is most defiantly kid safe, as I have taught beginner riding lessons on him. He packed my little sister, who was 6 at the time, through the forestry for fall gather. He’s as honest as the day is long.

His true calling is in the roping pen. He is any ropers dream, absolutely anyone can ride him. For the last few years he has been my main heel horse. He’s helped me win two CGRA Heeling Season Leader awards along with numerous other accomplishments.

He has been hauled to World Series and TRC, along with other countless jackpots and rodeos. I have both tied on and dallied on him while team roping.

Don’t let his laid back demeanour lead you astray, he has the go and try when he’s asked. He’s a push to the steer style horse that will give you the same shot, with a stop that makes it easy to dally, every time. He’s consistent and has absolutely no funny business. He makes it fun and easy to win!

Fred has also been in the Heading, Breakaway and Tie Down. He has a lot of rate and cow sense. When you’re heading on him, he rates well and will really handle cattle. He scores well and leaves off your hand, and once your feet stop he will rate off. In the Breakaway and Tie Down, he has a nice little stop that allows beginners lots of time to get their slack. If someone more aggressive rides him he stops harder and will step up his game.

Fred is super personable and a pleasure to be around, both in and out of the arena. He has lived with my weanlings, and loves them all.  He also has lived with large groups of horses, never causing any issues. His easy going demeanour transfers to all aspects of his life. He’s easy to catch, shoe, saddle and clip.

I have loved every day of having Fred in my string, but I am super excited to see him move forward to make his next owners dreams come true!

*He does require a tight shoeing schedule every 6-8weeks and I am completely open to discuss his schedule and why with you. He will have recent x-rays/vet check available on sale day.*

Bid on this horse at the 11th Annual Top Gun Horse Sale on April 13, 2024 in Ponoka, AB.
