Description

“Gregor the Mountain” aka Greg is a 2021 Percheron Belgian cross, 17.2hh 1800lbs bay roan gelding with a size 7 shoe.

Greg was started in team harness last January where he drove both left and right side feeding cows for a combined 30 days.

Greg was then started under saddle where he has excelled as an all around mountain horse. He spent last spring, summer and fall climbing mountains, crossing rivers, navigating bog and rough terrain and conquering it all with confidence and consistency. He’s sure footed, quiet and calm when he climbs.

Greg has an incredible foundation of flat work under saddle:

Solid walk, jog, trot and lope
Picks up his leads
Turn on the haunches
Turn on the forehand
Half pass
Side pass
Opens gates

Greg is always the first horse at the gate. He follows you around the pasture looking for attention. He’s amazing to load and unload. He’s stands quiet at the hitching rail/highline/cross ties. He doesn’t pull and can be tied with a thin piece of twine and won’t touch it.

He’s gentle in the pasture and is currently pastured with a mix of young and old horses, mares and geldings, and everything from minis to qhs to more draft crosses.

Greg is 100% sound and has no scars or previous injuries. Greg requires ZERO MAINTENANCE. He is up to date on his dental work, dewormer, 5-way vaccine and farrier. He has beautiful feet and stands well for the farrier.

Greg is currently at an indoor facility with me fine tuning his riding skills and will remain there until sale date. He is a star at the arena and everyone is blown away by his size and disposition.

Greg has had an assortment of riders on him in the mountains from husbands to kids and everyone in between. Mountain man is his true calling!

Greg COMES WITH a custom bit made by “Elliot Bit and Spurs” and a custom bridle together valued over $500. He has a soft mouth and soft sides. He doesn’t require spurs or a tough handle. He doesn’t rub your knees into trees despite his large size.

Greg does NOT require a custom saddle or draft saddle. He fits FQHB and wears a 38-40” cinch. He’s not wide through the barrel and therefore doesn’t hurt your knees to ride all day.
